Although we are not a large organization, we are specifically organized to provide personal and efficient service for Kiawah and Seabrook Island clients.
Farris Cowart, President and Owner,
offers over 40 years of home construction experience and has been a successful builder on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands for over two decades. He personally cost estimates every job and meets with Doug regularly to monitor the progress of each new home. His unique skills have proven to be ideal in not only providing our clients with top quality homes but also maintaining their confidence long after the home is completed. Farris’s hobby (and passion) for creating furniture, cabinetry, and interior trim details provides clients with an additional resource as they travel the design-build path.
Doug James, CGP, V.P. Construction Management and Co-Owner
oversees the construction process from soliciting bids and selecting subcontractors to supervising all on-site work, with an eye towards creating, in three dimensions, the vision of both client and architect. The key elements in that process include: an open line of communication between all parties - client, architect, builder, suppliers and sub-contractors; the knowledge that the building process is constantly evolving and builders must keep current through continuing education and research; and a near constant review of processes and projects looking for ways to make improvements in quality, efficiency, sustainability and livability. Doug has been a licensed builder in South Carolina for more than 20 years, is an active member of the Charleston Home Builders Association (which named him Builder of the Year in 2012), and has served on the Charleston County Construction Board of Adjustment & Appeals since 2001. He enjoys sharing his building and carpentry skills with Habitat for Humanity, Homeworks, and the Boy Scouts of America.
Bob Frattaroli, Executive V.P. New Business Development
is primarily responsible for assisting clients in understanding the construction process, timeframes and costs associated with making the best decisions for their particular circumstances. Along with Doug, Bob will work closely with all potential clients to be sure they get exactly the house they want within the agreed upon budget. Bob directs his broad experience and enthusiasm toward building longstanding relationships.
Rose Principe, Marketing Director
is responsible for all marketing activities including data base and social media management, print advertising and website design & management. She promotes the company through her creation and implementation of direct mail programs and ongoing communications with prospects and clients.
Mary Prince, Financial Services Manager
makes certain that subcontractors, suppliers and employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner. She manages all accounting functions to insure the long-term financial health of the company as well as smooth day-to-day operations. Mary keeps clients informed of their outstanding balances, deposits, allowances, etc. in keeping with Osprey’s promise of “No Surprises”.
